Auckland Transport sets the fares. Tag on and off with an AT HOP card or a contactless bank card or phone for the $7.80 adult fare; without either, buy a $12 single-trip paper ticket before boarding, from the AT HOP machine on Devonport wharf (near the toilets) or at the Downtown terminal (machines or the Pier 1 customer service centre). The Fullers360 ticket office at Devonport has closed, and Fullers360's 10-trip FlexiPass and monthly pass are no longer sold for Devonport. Child, student and other concession fares need a registered AT HOP card with the concession loaded. Children aged 5-15 ride free at weekends and on public holidays with a registered AT HOP card, under-5s ride free with a paying passenger, and SuperGold holders with the concession on their AT HOP card ride free after 9 am on weekdays and all day at weekends and on public holidays. Caps: $50 per 7 days on AT HOP, $20 per day on contactless. The Inner Harbour monthly pass ($195) covers this route. The Fullers360 Devonport-Waiheke sailings are priced separately and do not take contactless. All fares in New Zealand dollars (NZD).
This Auckland Transport route crosses the Waitematā Harbour between the Downtown Ferry Terminal on Quay Street and the wharf at the foot of Queens Parade in Devonport, on the North Shore. AT sets the timetable and fares, and the boats are run by Fullers360. AT's planner times every trip at 12 minutes.
Boats run every day from early morning, with the latest crossings after midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. On Monday to Thursday the first departure leaves Downtown at 5:45 am and the last Devonport departure is 11:45 pm, with a boat every 20 minutes through both peaks and every half hour between them. Friday adds a round trip after midnight. Saturday starts later and keeps a steady half-hourly rhythm, again with an after-midnight pair, and Sunday runs half-hourly from 7:15 am to about 10 pm. Labour Day, Christmas Day and the Monday after Boxing Day use the Sunday list.
Devonport no longer has a ticket office: tag on with an AT HOP card or a contactless bank card or phone and the adult fare is $7.80, whereas a paper ticket from the wharf machine costs $12. Card fares count towards a 7-day cap ($50 on AT HOP) or a daily cap ($20 contactless) shared with Auckland buses and trains. Fullers360's own FlexiPass and monthly pass have been withdrawn for this route; regular riders now use AT's Inner Harbour monthly pass. Some Fullers360 Waiheke boats also call at Devonport, but they are a separate service with separate fares.
At the city end, Pier 2 is shut for gangway and pontoon renewal and electrification until 30 October 2026, so Devonport boats leave from Pier 4 until then. AT lists free park and sail at Devonport, and says bikes ride free on most of its ferries when there is room.
- Be at the wharf a few minutes before departure; vehicle loading usually closes earlier than walk-on boarding.
